It is common to attack monsters from a distance to give yourself an advantage over it
The monster will have to come to you in order to attack you, unless it too can attack you from a distance
One tatic is to hurt the monster a little before it reaches you, and then switch to melee combat to finish it off
See the quick equipping section for details of how to do this quickly
Different types of ammo will cause different amounts of damage, you can switch between types using the [ and ] keys
If you run out of ammo completly the weapon will automaticly de-equip so you can use the most basic attacks
